Hi All, I have a DS1815+ running DSM 5.2 and I'm having problems adding a network printer so I can use AirPrint. I have an existing IP printer (an old HP Laserjet5P) in the DSM which I added several months ago. Now when I try and add a second network-attached printer (a HP Laserjet6L) it fails immediately after typing in the IP address with the error: The operation failed. I logged into the DSM via SSH and I was able to ping the IP address of the printer I was trying to add. I can access the printer by IP from other machines on the network. Both printers have the same network card, so I'm at a loss to explain why I can't add this printer when I already have one configured in the system I'd appreciate any guidance or any workarounds. The printer is perfectly reachable (at IP level), and if I give the IP address of my router (just as an example), I get to the next dialog. So what the hell is DSM trying to do with the target IP??? What sort of queries it it trying to do??? The Workcentre is a pretty standard beast, and support most standards, so I'm wondering what DSM is expecting, that the Workcentre can't do (or doesn't do as expected by DSM???).

Looking at the /etc/init/cupsd.conf, it seems that cups is enabled only if there is at least one printer.
